  Thousands of residents of Adun-in, Abogunde and Ogbomoso Baptist High School areas in Ogbomoso were on Thursday morning stranded at the banks of Adun-in and Baaki rivers as the areas were submerged by flood following heavy downpour.  BCOS correspondent in Ogbomoso, Aderemi Akanmu who visited the affected areas this morning sighted residents of each of the areas at the river banks.  Speaking with some residents of the areas, Mr Martins Chukwuno,Omowumi Oluwadarasinmi, Bello Mikhail and Oladayo Oyetunde, they expressed concern over the incident and appealed to state and local governments and other relevant authorities to save their lives by dredging the river to ensure free flow of water.  It was another ugly incident at Abogunde area where flood chased out some resident out of their houses. 

  The Oyo State Government has approved the recruitment process of about Seven hundred and Ninety-one (791) officers of various cadres into the mainstream of its civil service. The Chairman, Oyo State Civil Service Commission, Alh. Kamoru Aderibigbe made this known in a statement issued on Wednesday in Ibadan. The Chairman said the recruitment will encompass the absorption of two hundred and thirty Education Officers, and five hundred and sixty-one officers into the mainstream. According to him, “This recruitment will be the highest into the mainstream of the Civil Service in the last two decades. I believe we could have had more, but, for the fact that the Governor has constantly approved the conversion of officers who were employed into the lower cadres in the Civil Service by the previous administration, but possessed higher educational qualifications.
