  Hon. Temilola Adibi, an Ogbomoso-born politician and former member of the House of Representatives, is dead after battling a long illness.  He was aged 64. According to one of his aides who spoke under condition of anonymity he died after he jogged this morning, Tuesday, at Ilorin, Kwara state. He also served as chairman of Ogbomoso North local government. He held office as Director General of Oyo State Signage and Advertisment Agency (OYSAA). He was a member of the House of Representatives representing Ogbomoso North/Ogbomoso South/Oriire federal constituency between 1999 and 2003 on the platform on the defunct Alliance for Democracy.

  The Oyo State Governor Engineer Seyi Makinde has sworn in 48 new permanent Secretaries into the state civil service, emphasizing the need for efficiency and productivity in the public sector. The Governor swore in the Permanent Secretaries during a special event held at the Executive Chambers of the governor's office Agodi Ibadan. Addressing the new Permanent Secretaries, the State Governor Engineer Seyi Makinde, said that the appointees went through a rigorous selection process before they were appointed to fill the vacancies. While charging the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries to excel in their roles and justify their appointment, Governor Makinde emphasized that the state would continue to recognize and promote outstanding individuals in the Education sector and Local Government service in the state.   Kingmakers in Oyo Town on Friday rejected Gov. Seyi Makinde’s appointment of Prince Abimbola Owoade as the new Alaafin of Oyo. The kingmakers, in a letter signed by their legal representative, Adekunle Sobalolu, and addressed to the state governor, declared the appointment of Owoade as null and void; illegal and unlawful. Ogbomoso Info recalls the Oyo State Government had earlier on Friday announced Owoade as the Alaafin-elect. The kingmakers claimed they never recommended Owoade to the state government at any time. They insisted the only person they recommended on Sept. 30, 2022, by the majority of the kingmakers’ lawful votes as the next Alaafin, was Prince Lukman Gbadegesin. Ogbomoso Info reports that five kingmakers are objecting to the governor’s appointment of the Alaafin-elect.   The Executive Governor of Oyo state, Engr Seyi Makinde has formally approved a new Alaafin of Oyo. A statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade, said that Prince Abimbola Akeem Owoade after thorough consultations and divinations, has been recommended by the Oyomesi and approved by the Governor of Oyo State. According to the commissioner, a statement to this effect has been issued by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Ademola Ojo, who said that the announcement has put to rest, all the socio and legal bickering that have ensued since the demise of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III on April 22, 2022. Ojo called on all citizens of Oyo State to join the Government in celebrating this momentous occasion and lend their support to the new Alaafin of Oyo. The Commissioner prays that his reign will bring peace, prosperity and unity to the historic Oyo Kingdom.
