  The Oyo State Assembly has urged the executive Arm of Government through relevant ministry and agencies to facilitate the completion of 10,000 metric Tones Agricultural Silo complex projects at Awe Junction in Oyo East local government.   The Oyo state government has again mandated safety procedures for individuals, groups and corporate bodies holding St. valentine day events. This was contained in a statement signed by the state commissioner for information & orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade. The statement also tasked organisers of St. valentine’s day celebrations to conduct their activities in a safe and responsible manner.  This, according to the statement is in response to anticipated increase in social gatherings during the valentine celebrations. Prince Oyelade further emphasized the need to involve security agencies and the health sector in the planning and implementation of St. valentine’s day events holding on February 14. The statement warned that failure to comply with the laid down directives and safety regulations will attract severe consequences under the law.

The house made the call following a motion titled Need for the executive Arm of Government to introduce paternity leave into the public and private sectors of the State presented by Hon. Olorunpoto Rahman representing Oyo East-West constituency at the floor of the house. According to Hon. Rahman, the importance of paternity leave for fathers in the state is to enable them provides necessary emotional and practical support to their families during the postnatal period.
