Oyo Assembly Seeks Completion of Awe Agric Silo - Ogbomoso Info

  The Oyo State Assembly has urged the executive Arm of Government through relevant ministry and agencies to facilitate the completion of 10,000 metric Tones Agricultural Silo complex projects at Awe Junction in Oyo East local government. The house made the call following a motion presented by Hon. Olorunpoto Rahman representing Oyo East-West constituency at the floor of the house. At the plenary that was presided over by the Speaker, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, a motion was presented by Hon. Valentine: Oyo Govt Charges Groups, Corporate Bodies, Others On Safety Procedures

  The Oyo state government has again mandated safety procedures for individuals, groups and corporate bodies holding St. valentine day events. This was contained in a statement signed by the state commissioner for information & orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade. The statement also tasked organisers of St. valentine’s day celebrations to conduct their activities in a safe and responsible manner.  This, according to the statement is in response to anticipated increase in social gatherings during the valentine celebrations. Prince Oyelade further emphasized the need to involve security agencies and the health sector in the planning and implementation of St. valentine’s day events holding on February 14. The statement warned that failure to comply with the laid down directives and safety regulations will attract severe consequences under the law.

Oyo Lawmakers Seeks Paternity Leave For Male Workers

  The Oyo State House of Assembly has called on the Executive Arm of Government to introduce paternity leave into the public and private sectors of the State. The house made the call following a motion titled Need for the executive Arm of Government to introduce paternity leave into the public and private sectors of the State presented by Hon. Olorunpoto Rahman representing Oyo East-West constituency at the floor of the house. According to Hon. Rahman, the importance of paternity leave for fathers in the state is to enable them provides necessary emotional and practical support to their families during the postnatal period. The lawmaker noted that some states and the federal government have approved the paternity leave for fathers hence the need for the State to consider the approval of paternity leave for fathers.
