'Ensure real grassroots development,' - Makinde charges 33 newly Sworn-in LGA Chairmen, Vice

 


The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde has charged the elected local government chairmen to ensure real grassroots development and also ensure dividends of democracy are delivered.

Governor Makinde stated this through the Deputy Governor Barrister Bayo Lawal who stood in for him at the inauguration ceremony of the newly elected chairmen and vice-chairmen.

He added that his administration recognises the importance of local grassroot administration hence the need for elected chairmen at the helms of affairs in all Local Government Areas in Oyo State.

The commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Mr. Segun Olayiwola while congratulating the newly inaugurated chairmen of the thirty-three local government areas in the state, called for unwavering ability to bring about the desired developments at the grassroots level.

The oath of allegiance was conducted before the chief judge of the state justice Iyabo Yerima, people's democratic party chieftains and other government functionaries.
