Beyond rotation of Chairmanship of Oyo State Council of Obas

Within a week, the ancient city of Ogbomoso witnessed some good news from various angles.

 It's now sure that the Soun of Ogbomosoland is a co-chair of the hallowed Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs, with Alaafin and Olubadan. It's now established that the Onpetu of Ijeruland is now a co- Deputy Chairman of the same council, joining with Olugbon who had held same position. It's now confirmed that the Aale of Okeelerin, Ogbomoso is now a member of the same Council of Obas.

 It's such a cheering news that the good people of Oke-Ogun now got a Federal University on their soil, which was made possible by our illustrious son, Distinguished Senator AbdulFatai Omotayo Buhari, PhD. He fought doggedly, intelligently, courageously and tirelessly until it was done. That part of the history remains indelible. 

Now, Let our traditional rulers, political leaders, leaders of thought and religious leaders take the battle to the next phase. It is time to sit together with Ibadan, Oyo, Oke-Ogun and Ibarapa to draft a Charter on rotation of power (Governorship). It's part of our commonwealth and must not be made an exclusive right of Ibadan. No doubts, Ibadan has a robust population advantage and parades a cream of intelligent minds.Other zones also have what it takes to rule Oyo State well, if not better. What applies to the traditional institution should happen to the political class in Oyo State. 

Ado-Ekiti has never dominated the governorship of Ekiti State, despite being the capital. Ifaki and Iyin with not too large population have produced governors. In Ogun State, it's the same story: Iperu has produced a governor. Osun State is our neighbour: Okuku, Ilesha, and Ede have produced governors. The list is endless. Why would Oyo State be this different and defiant to modern realities??? I don't think we should tarry till a new state is created out of the current Oyo State before we achieve this. Let's start talking now. Let the move begin. 

We wait to see how the good people of Oke-Ogun will reward and repay our son for the huge dividends of democracy he brought to them. You need not ask what more he can do if he's given a greater political platform. The result of a good work should be more (higher) works.

House to House founder loses Wife

  ‎ ‎Mrs Abimbola Adeyemo , the wife of the founder and General Overseer of House to House Prayer Ministries, Ogbomoso, Rev’d Debo Adeyemo has passed away. ‎ ‎Mrs. Adeyemo reportedly died on Sunday, December 7, after a brief illness. She was aged 63. ‎ ‎A trained nurse, the late Mrs. Adeyemo was widely regarded as a loving and compassionate woman who strongly upheld family values. She was also known for her role as a marriage counsellor and advocate against marital breakdown. ‎ ‎Following her demise, sympathisers have been visiting the family residence at Areago, Ogbomoso, to commiserate with Rev’d Adeyemo and members of the family over the painful loss.

No Teacher Beaten to Death in Oyo – Govt, NUT

  ‎The Oyo State Ministry of Education and the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Oyo State chapter, have cleared the air on the alleged beating of a teacher to death in Ogbomoso by students, describing the viral news story as fake and a complete misrepresentation of facts. ‎Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon.
