Children’s Day : First Lady calls on Nigerians to stand against bullying

                     Oluremi Tinubu

Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu has called on all Nigerians to take an active stand against bullying, teaching their children that strength lies in compassion, while true leadership begins with looking out for one another.

This calls is part of her message marking this year’s Children’s Day celebration.

She says the theme of the day “Stand Up: Building a Bullying-Free Generation,” speaks to our shared responsibility to protect and empower the young hearts and minds who represent the promise of Nigeria’s future.

Harping on the need for every child to grow up in an environment that is safe, supportive, and free from fear, the First Lady frowns at bullying, whether in schools, communities or online, noting that it leaves lasting wounds that hinder a child’s emotional, social, and academic development.
