Security: Makinde presents six upgraded APCs to Oyo Police Command

Oyo State Governor ‘Seyi Makinde on Wednesday presented six newly-upgraded Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) to the Nigeria Police, Oyo State Command, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to the protection of lives and property.

The governor, represented by his deputy, Barr. Abdulraheem Bayo Lawal, handed over the APCs at the Governor’s Office Car Park, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan. He said the refurbished carriers are part of the broader strategy to strengthen security across the state.

“As a government, we understand that the security of lives and property is essential to the stability and progress of Oyo State,” the governor said. “These APCs complement our efforts to build a robust security framework. Beyond land operations, we are also scaling up with plans to acquire two surveillance aircraft.”

The State Commissioner of Police, CP Johnson Adenola, described Makinde as “one of the most security-friendly governors” in Nigeria.

“Oyo residents can now sleep with both eyes closed,” he assured.
